At level 1 we continue to book virtual and onsite consults, and have safe ways to support our patients and provide health care for you. You can be seen on site if you meet safe screening criteria- this means phoning and our receptionists will need to ask you a few questions regarding the reason for your visit so don’t be offended by this . We continue working on processes to safely extend our on-site consulting and avoiding risk of waiting room overcrowding and maintain social distancing. Watch for updates on how this will be managed. We will continue to offer phone and video consultations at level 1. The NZ College of GPs has recommended that approximately 50% of consultations remain virtual at level 1.

The below instructions which have worked well through level 4 and level 3 and 2… they will continue to be our basic approach but will update as appropriate,

Virtual (online) and phone consultations – these can be booked via the portal or via phone and this will help us continue to care for and support our patients. We will continue to update the website accordingly. These are invoiced at the same rate as onsite consultations.

If you are unwell with any symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat or runny nose, even a simple cold it is vital you DO NOT come straight into the surgery or book a standard appointment. You should stay home and phone reception who will then get a doctor or a nurse to call you and discuss what we can do to help.

Virtual consultations

We are continuing to offer virtual (online) consultations in place of face-to-face consultations, especially when a physical examination is not necessary. Although this is a different form of consultation, we are confident this will provide a high standard of care, as well as being very convenient and safe, as ongoing careful steps to avoid transmission of covid or other cold and flu viruses.

The platform is “doxy.me” – a safe, secure and simple program that can be used on any device with a camera (e.g. smartphone, tablet or PC). Please ask reception for a virtual consultation and they will advise how to do this OR see this website for further information.

Virtual consultations will be for the same duration as would a standard consultation and will be charged at the same rate. Sometimes we may also require you to attend the surgery for a physical examination and this will be discussed with you at the time.

Thankyou for your ongoing understanding of need to work safely together throughout this complex time
